Alongside Jan De Nul Group

We collaborate with the Belgian group Jan De Nul to create a Cofferdam underwater metal structure in Italy and a shore approach for the arrival of a pipeline in Albania.

Italy

In the last quarter of 2018, we created an underwater metal structure, "Cofferdam", consisting of dn 1,000 pipes 33 meters long and AZ48-700 metal sheet piles 28 meters long and installed a metal door, "Gate", positioned in the center of the structure. The final height of the structure varies from -9.00 to -14.00 m above sea level

Means, equipment and operators used

Means: Adhemar De Saint-Venant ship with DP2 dynamic positioning system
Equipment used: two LARS systems (Launch And Recovery System), a decompression chamber, a control room and a PTC 120 vibrodriver
Special equipment: GPS control system for diving divers
Personnel: a supervisor, 9 technical underwater operators and 2 operators for vibroinfissor

Albania

We have created the entire structure that allows the arrival on the ground of a 1,000 mm diameter gas pipeline. The “cofferdam” metal structure with a length of 700.00 m was built half on the ground and half on the sea and is made up of two parallel metal sheet piles and thrust structures built on site and positioned inside them.

To allow the insertion of the metal elements, starting from the shoreline, a temporary cliff made of stone material with a length of 300.00 m positioned along the north side of the cofferdam was created. The construction of the cliff required the supply and installation of 60,000 tons of stone material of various sizes.

To allow the pipeline to arrive, was carried out, within the cofferdam, the dredging of the seabed with a narrow section and constant slope. The dredged volume was 20,000 cubic meters.
