Renexia Services S.r.l., a Toto Group company, owns the rights for the construction and operation of the first marine wind farm in the Mediterranean (Beleolico) facing the “Molo Polisettoriale” of the Port of Taranto.
Beleolico is composed of 10 turbines with a total capacity, in operation, of 30 Mw capable of ensuring a production of more than 58 thousand MWh, equal to the annual needs of 60 thousand people living in the city.
Nautilus’ Role
The part of the work entrusted to Nautilus consists of laying underwater cables and inserting them inside the foundation structures until they reach the turbines.
A total of 6.800 Ml of underwater cable with a section of 240 sq. mm and 400 sq. mm and a diameter of 110.9 mm and 121.7 mm was laid.
At the end of the installation, the cables made safe by underwater laying of 1.438 protection mattresses.
Nautilus' activities were carried out using its own equipment and vessels and its own teams of Technical Diving Operators (O.T.S.).
All activities, from the design of the laying method to the execution of the works, were carried out under the close supervision of RINA Chek, a RINA Group company accredited as an inspection body in the field of building construction, civil engineering works in general and related plant engineering works as well as for industrial plant engineering works)
